Tiramisu that I made using a rectangular shaped food container.

Tiramisu is a delicious pastry dessert. Many say it is surprisingly easy to make. And indeed, I found it easy to make. With help from YouTube videos, I got to make delicious Tiramisu at first try. My cake looks amateurish in the picture above but I don't care because it was delicious. The important thing is to use tested recipes and tested brands of Marcapone and Whipping Cream because a good Tiramisu is a delicious and gorgeously sinful decadent experience!

There are many short videos on YouTube about how to make Tiramisu. And there are variations. I have watched and re-watched many videos on YouTube showing Tiramisu being made and came to one conclusion - this should be easy to make.

The basic ingredients are eggs, sugar and mascarpone cheese and whipping cream or heavy cream. Mixed together, this creamy batter will become the layer on top of the Lady Fingers. Also a crucial ingredient is the coffee or espresso. It's for the Lady Fingers to be dipped in it. The coffee or espresso will seep inside the Lady Finger and make it moist and spongy.

I recently bought a small tub of Tiramisu for HK$45.00 but did not enjoy eating it because it was sloppily done. But I am not annoyed at that experience anymore. That's because it made me want to try making Tiramisu myself. I went about and purchased the necessary ingredients. The reult was a delicious, moist and spongy Tiramisu experience. If you haven't made Tiramisu before, I wholly recommend that you try making it. In fact, I won't be buying Tiramisu anymore. I'll be making it myself.

I still can't believe that I can now make a dessert that I love. I have loved Tiramisu from the first time I tasted it more than 20 years ago. And, I had fun making it. I visited the nearby Wanchai Wet Market and found a store that sells fresh farm eggs. I bought 6 pieces and it cost me only HK$10.00. The next ingredients to buy was Mascarpone Cheese and Whipping Cream. I also bought instant coffee and a pack of Lady Fingers. Sugar, I already had at home.

The recipe I used: (Please watch some videos in YouTube on how to make Tiramisu before attempting to make Tiramisu for the first time.)
6 egg yolks and a half cup of granulated sugar which I whisked over a bain-marie and then set aside to cool.
2 cups of whipping cream(Avonmore brand)
250 grams of mascarpone(Sterilgarda brand)
Lady Fingers
Instant coffee(I didn't know instant coffee can taste so good!) This recipe is pretty basic, but it gave me such a great taste experience, I don't know if I'll make any changes to it in the near future. The instant coffee, I might upgrade to espresso later.
